What is CGM?

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) refers to tracking blood glucose levels (blood sugar) using a small sensor that is placed just under the surface of the skin. The sensor automatically shows glucose readings either on the reader or your smartphone.

You can set high and low alarms with the Libre 2 and the Dexcom CGM devices.  These devices help you see your glucose level trends over time, so you can adjust your eating habits, exercise, and/or medication.

Please check with your insurance to see if CGM is a covered benefit, and be sure to determine your copay.  Our staff can assist you with applying the device and teaching you how to use it.

Share your CGM Data

During your office visit, your clinician will interpret the data and will adjust your medication accordingly. We also want you to share your CGM data with our office by downloading the information regularly. Please follow the instructions below to understand how you can do that.

Insulin Pumps

Please visit our Patient Resources page for links about how to upload your pump data and share it with your clinician. The data will then be available either for the office visit or telemedicine visit.
